Part One: I Knew It
I knew it. I knew I was getting close to the breaking point and it happened this morning. My alarm went off at 5:53a and I hit the snooze bar once. When I finally rolled out of bed, I looked in the mirror and wanted to cry. So I turned around, crawled back in bed, and made Kent hold me while I cried for a bit. I was just tired and not wanting to go for a bike ride and wishing I had the day off for the first time in oh, two weeks or so.
Then. Then I got up, put my workout stuff on and grabbed my bike for my 45-minute ride.
I knew it. I knew there was a nest in a giant bush along my usual run/bike route. Sometimes I would run by and a bird would hover over me until I got far enough away for it to not be concerned anymore.
Then. This morning, as I was riding my bike on the bike path past the bush, I heard SQUAWK, SQUAWK, felt wings beating my helmet and this bird CLAWED AT MY HAIR! I screamed, screamed, pedaled harder, and then cried for about half a mile, trying to decide if I wanted to go back home and go back to bed or keep riding. I kept riding.
On the way back, I decided to avoid the bike path altogether and ride on the opposite side of the road in order to avoid the attack. AGAIN! I hear a SQUAWK, SQUAWK, feel the beat of wings and get a direct hit on my helmet. I screamed, pedaled harder, cried a little, then gave a dirty look to a walker on the bike path who looked at me like I was insane. I hope he gets close to the nest (yes, I am that vindictive).
P.S. Anyone have a BB gun? I just wondered...
Part Two: What Should I Do?
The next post is post #400 for me. Whew! That's a lot. What should I do on the blog to celebrate? I've already given you 100 things you don't know about me and I've answered all your questions. I even went to Boston to celebrate #300 (or my husband's birthday; whatever).
What should I do for #400?

For the record, I have always had a weird fear of birds. Your incidence confirms my fear. Maybe for your #400 you could post a picture of you in a tree stand with a BB gun waiting to GET THAT BIRD!

Lol. Stay away from the utility pole on 120th St. just north of Riley if you fear birds. :)
Do you have a BB gun I could borrow? :)
See - after that your triathlon will be a piece of cake :)
