Post 500: We're Moving!

But not far. :-)
Whew! I've been sitting on this one for what seems like forever, even though it's only been a few weeks.
Before Kent and I got married, we bought our condo. It was a great fit for us then, but even then we said we'd probably live there for 3-5 years and then purchase something bigger.
We've been looking for a while, but we're happy in our condo, so we weren't going to buy something unless we were really in love with it.
The Friday before Thanksgiving, we went to see this house. Soon to be OUR house. And we put an offer in a week later.
It's huge. I have no idea what we'll do with all the space, but I'm really excited about a few things we didn't have at the condo:
(1) A two-stall garage that's attached! No more digging Kent's car out of the snow or dragging groceries across the parking lot and up the stairs.
(2) LOTS of storage space. I'm hoping this doesn't mean that I'll turn into a pack rat, but it will be nice to get our Christmas decorations out without a 5-step process of pulling things out of our overstuffed closet and replacing them.
(3) A yard! I'm excited about having a yard to play in. I might even play catch with Kent sometimes now that we have a place to do it. (There might also be a dog coming this summer, but my sister told my niece that she could help me pick it out to stop said niece from crying about something else. Auntie Cupcake to the rescue again.) :-)
There are lots of other awesome perks about this house, like more room for my books, two fireplaces, a three-season room, a fire pit out back, space for guests, two great entry ways (front and back door), lots of built-ins, etc. Not to mention that I'm excited about painting new colors (but not taking down all that wallpaper) and deciding where everything goes. I love organizing!
Last night, Kent and I were talking about the house and he said, "I'm really going to miss this place. Aren't you going to miss it?" Yup. I'm going to miss it a lot. Our condo was our first home, the place we went after our wedding, the place we had fights and made up, the place where we entertained friends and family.
But now we're going to have a new home. And I can't wait to make new memories in our new home. And eventually entertain all our family and friends here.
Here are some pictures, most from the realtor's website; a couple from me.
