The List
We've had the house for one month now. And sometimes, when you're working on a project this big (cosmetically changing every single room in a house), it's nice to remind yourself of what you've already done. Otherwise, it feels like you're just going nowhere. So here's my list:
Master bath: ripped out linoleum, ripped out gross shower door, took down giant mirror, removed wallpaper, spackled, sanded, primed, fixed finish in skylights, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Master bedroom: removed 3 kids of wall paper, spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Hallway: spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Bed 1: removed three kinds of wallpaper, ripped out damaged built-in desk.
Bed 2: removed two kinds of wallpaper, spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Bed 3: nothing. (Hey, we can't get to everything!) :-)
Bath 2: removed wall paper, spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling, re-caulked around the tub.
Entry: removed two kinds of wallpaper, spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Dining room: removed two kids of wallpaper, two chair rails, spackled, sanded, primed, painted 2 coats on the ceiling.
Living room: primed walls, painted 2 coats of white on trim, painted 2 coats on the ceiling, spackled.
Family room: removed an inch of carpet around the perimeter of the room, painted one coat of white on beadboard and chair rail, spackled.
Kitchen: painted one coat on the ceiling, spackled.
Well, I think "that's it." At least, as far as the home improvements go. We also cleaned a few of the rooms (bathrooms, kitchen) before we even started any of these projects so we'd have a relatively clean place to work. Not to mention we removed all the hardware in all of these rooms. I'm not really looking forward to putting all of those back. So if you stop by in 6 months and there's still not a light switch plate in the dining room, you know I've just given up.

I feel your pain. Good luck! Can't wait to see the finished product!
